The pre-release reviews and ratings of 'Secret Superstar' was clearly an over-the-top one with a whooping 9.5/10 rating on Chinese ticket sales website 'Maoyan'.
Now, all the hype has finally paid off in terms of the box office business as the film shatters all previous opening records of Indian films (of course Aamir Khan films) in China.
It has always been Aamir Khan vs Aamir Khan in Chinese Box Office. 'Dangal' was the previous highest opener in China with $2.1m (Approx ₹13 crores) beating PK's records. Now, 'Secret Superstar' has thumped the opening records of 'Dangal' in a severe way, collecting a whooping $6.79m (Approx ₹43.35 crores) which is more than 3 times of the previous best.
Aamir Khan scores yet again in China... #SecretSuperstar debuts at No 1 spot at China BO... Collects a WHOPPING $ 6.79 million [₹ 43.35 cr] on Fri... Opening day numbers are HIGHER than #Dangal there... SENSATIONAL!— taran adarsh (@taran_adarsh) January 20, 2018
According to Chinese trade websites, the trend of 'Secret Superstar' will definitely increase over the weekend which will lead to some more broken records. The Indian lifetime gross of the film lies around Rs. 83 crores which is also due to be broken by the end of today.
